Her passion for quality childcare has always been her number one motivation for working in the childcare field even from her early years. She has worked at New Haven Child Development where she provided quality child care and education to many children under her supervision. After several years in this field, she considered a career shift that led her to Yale University and Yale Hospital where she worked full time for 34 years for both employers. To mention a few of her personal traits include being very caring, nurturing, warm smile, and having a kind-heartedness that elevates people around her; Especially towards the patients she handled, and to the co-workers and supervisors, with whom she worked. Her nurturing character endeared to her, she personified the best example any worker should aspire to be. In her desire to continue to contribute to the society at large, upon retirement, Pearl partnered with her daughter to open The Cozy Den Daycare where she will continue to use her years of experience in childcare to enhance the efforts of this family-run daycare.

Iyana holds a bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology from Thomas Jefferson University, which is a great asset to our children. She utilizes her degree and skill set to help analyze behaviors and create innovative learning activities and curricula.  Iyana aspires to incorporate her knowledge and passion by providing equitable and excellent early education to the children in her care.
